1. Narrative Based Trading

Narrative trading

Crypto trades on stories, and stories rotate. Capital flows from one narrative to the next, majors to alts, DeFi to AI, L1s to memes, and every rotation is by definition a relative move: something gains at something else's expense. Narrative trading puts that rotation on directly.

You go long the asset or theme carrying the narrative and short the one it's stealing attention from. The single-pair version is "long the leader, short the laggard": long HYPE, short SOL if you think the Hyperliquid story out-runs Solana's this quarter. The powerful version is a basket: instead of one name per side, you long a basket of Solana-ecosystem tokens against a basket of Ethereum-ecosystem tokens and trade "Solana beats Ethereum" as a single position, with one PnL, one funding number, one set of risk controls, up to 15 legs a side.

In Orchard, start from a market basket (Agent Pear publishes ready-made narrative baskets with a written thesis and suggested leverage) or build your own in the token picker. The Agent Stats panel tells you whether the two sides are actually related before you commit, and Auto-Rebalance keeps the theme balanced as individual names run.
